Welcome to Chrisiki!

Three main areas of interest; Miss Mantis, which lists a number of unique bite sized stories, Vendel’s corner, two to three bites for these stories, both having their distinct style and my blog, used for whatever I want to.

Latest

  • Sporting dust having settled, a new upgrade of the stuff that provides the backbone of this site has been upgraded. Usual remarks and email options apply. winking smiley
  • Not only have I added one more gigabit switch to my home network, which is completely irrelevant for this site since they are totally separate networks, but once again a newer version of PmWiki has been installed. Due to the overwhelming lack of response to all upgrades, I expect this one to also be without any response as well. But on the off chance you do, use the link you find in the next bullet, it’s still good.
  • I’ve just upgraded the site to the latest version of PmWiki, again. I still don’t expect any response, but it is still customary to say that if you find something not working, or stopped working, you should get in touch. And yes, you still can, by clicking here. But with each update there should be less need winking smiley .
  • After fixing the RSS feed stuff, I have actually managed to put up Vendel’s first story and clean up his corner. This all means that we now have three areas to the this site. Go to Vendel’s corner via the side bar or here
  • After some poking around, the RSS 2.0 option is online, because it is now working as I want it to work!! There was not much difference between ATOM and RSS 1.0, but I’ve put that online as well, so you choose. Only RSS 2.0 will also include the blog’s content, the others just list the topics. And I’ve upgraded the PmWiki code, so even less bugs now happy smiley
  • For some reason the only feed option that shows up correctly in Thunderbird was the ATOM feed, so I’ve kept that one and removed the RSS 2.0 option
  • Merry Christmas everybody. Over here it is raining, but the snow earlier in the week is still hanging in there, making this a white Christmas, which for us is something special. Hope you are enjoying this day with the ones you love.

  • October has seen me travel, get ill and as a consequence, not doing much here, I have still a Vendel story to put up and give my impressions of my latest gadget shot, so just exert a little more patience.
  • I’ve just upgraded the site to the latest version of PmWiki. Not that I expect any response at all, but it is customary to say that if you find something not working, or stopped working, you should get in touch. And yes, you can, by clicking here.
  • There is more Miss Mantis, enjoy!
  • Conceptronic have succumbed to the credit crisis, so those in search of a CH3SNAS might want to snap ‘m up before supplies dry up. The good thing is that it seems that the owning company is rising like a feniks. They might just still kill off a couple of products, so it will be your chance to take.
  • Unfortunately Miss Mantis is somewhat swamped with work, so her fantastic short stories are becoming a collector’s item happy smiley But let me assure you that she has many stories to write and I think this site is the preferred outlet. And to all the silent lurkers, a call for a story would help, not that I expect anyone to. But if you want to write to Miss Mantis, all you need to do is click here.
  • Of course I could have blogged this, but I didn’t, Happy 2009 Hope you will see your dreams come true, the credit crisis mostly avoided. O, and lay off the resolutions, it is a crappy concept.
  • Our own Miss Mantis has been asked to write somewhere else, which she liked. In fact, it brought a new flurry of inspiration so I have hopes of being able to share some more of her stories soon. In the meantime, keep visiting, perhaps even react? Nah, guess you’s the silent folk.
  • So you thought the crisis wasn’t going to be bad? Seems otherwise now, doesn’t it. I like how all the experts didn’t see the biggest financial disaster coming. We all knew, for years monkeys have outperformed investors on stock market games… happy smiley Even so, as usual those that caused this, won’t be the worst hit. But remember, it doesn’t mean they won’t pay, things have a way of working out. In the meantime, enjoy Christmas and cherish your loved ones as we enter 2009. Everything said and done, there are things more important than money to make it worth while.
  • Hopefully as the world is waking up to the credit crisis, and yes, chances are you’ll be affected, perhaps time to ponder the why. Personally I think it is that something upset the balance, this time, greed, or bad economic policy. Or both. And when everyone found out we’re living a financial lie, we got mad. Rightly so. In a couple of years we might see if it changed the world, or we let the rats back in the kitchen. There another set of lies (or perhaps half truths) floating around. The environment, the more you look into the facts, the more it is apparent that the media, and quite a few people that should know better are not giving you the full story. Global warming, uuuhhhh, nope, less ice, yes for the North, but not for the South. And the best so far, I read in a newspaper that in the human history a clear path for boats across the North pole was unheard of. Turns out it is happened more than once, last time in the 20th century. Are we that forgetful, or do we really think the Vikings called it Greenland because of the large layer of snow covering the land? There’s nothing against be careful with this planet, but to not tell the truth, to lie, to scare, just so you be seen as one that cares is exactly the same behaviour that caused the credit crisis. So, are we heading to environmental one? Perhaps, but perhaps not the one you read about in the media. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, been busy lately, so had less time to write something (to which you can sigh, either out of relief, or …). But I’m pimping my EEE 901, so hopefully there will be some techie things to write about soon.
  • Welcome to the 1929′s in 2008 style. As some of you might have gathered, the world is in a turmoil, largely due to the credit crisis. Or as some would say, bankers greed gone wild. Most of us will be affected in some way shape or form, I hope it is only a mild form. Meanwhile, this remains lurkers heaven, so the challenge I set might never happen, still, I’m happy to report the reader count is still growing. Perhaps I’ve tapped into something new, in a virtual world, the only site with a blog to have loads of virtual readers….. Stay safe.
  • This flash is about not having a flash, yeah I know, summertime on the Northern hemisphere. TV is into reruns, most of your colleagues on holiday (why is it that they seem to have more days off?). And seeing the amount of traffic, most of the visitors are off as well. That’s cool, there is so much irony in me starting to monitor traffic and asking a little more than the usual lurking, and then….. Holiday season. So Newsflash, it’s summertime.
  • I’ve put up a challenge for all, dare to react! see here.
  • This page doesn’t get updated a lot, there are other parts of the site to look at if you come here for that. So when it does happen, there is probably a good reason. And there is. Miss M. has sent me a superb story and I’m so proud I can put it up here, a must read as far as I’m concerned.
  • You might have noticed, I’m changing the appearance of the site by using a PMWiki skin. I hope you like the changes. I’ve taken the opportunity to clean up titles, links and stuff.
  • I’ve changed the icons, to a more consistent set using less wacky colours and added a contact form.
  • I managed to find some time to put up some blogging functionality. Trust me to jump on the bandwagon just as it becomes unfashionable happy smiley. Anyway, you can find it in the sidebar.
  • Not much into endorsing anything, I tend to believe you should be old and wise enough to decide things all by yourself, but still, I loved this film a lot. It isn’t this humongous production thing, so it relies a little on word of mouth. Hence the reason I mention it.
  • I’ve managed to secure the contributions of an unique short story writer, look for Miss Mantis in the sidebar.
  • For those really bored, I initially wrote a little bit of background stuff, and have moved it to here.

My alterations

I’m adding stuff to the wiki before actually writing something proper. I’m misusing my homepage to document progress and stuff I learn as I go on. I’ve finally installed a blogging recipe, so now I can bore you all to death properly grinning smiley grinning smiley.
